General Purpose

We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager within Weev, to oversee and manage the successful planning and implementation of projects related to electric vehicle infrastructure. The primary goal is to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of projects that involve the installation of EV charging stations and associated infrastructure. The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for managing the DNO process, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing project timelines and resources, within budget, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specification.

 Key Responsibilities

 • Develop comprehensive project plans in conjunction with the relevant teams, including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. 

• Managing the relevant Distribution Network Operator (DNO) applications, building strong working relationships, and providing advice and strategic direction to the Commercial and Operations teams. 

• Allocate and manage project resources in conjunction with the relevant teams, to ensure effective utilisation and project efficiency (including subcontractors). 

• Work alongside the IMS Team to identify and assess potential health and safety risks, and develop RAMS if required. 2 

• Conduct site surveys as necessary to assess electrical infrastructure for EV charging installations, liaising with EV Engineers in regards to project needs and pricing.

 • Adhere to quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards, specifications and compliance (e.g. electrical test certifications). 

• Monitor project costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. 

• Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies in conjunction with the relevant teams. 

• Review technical reports and progress solutions to Commercial and Operations teams (e.g. logger reports). 

• Liaising with DNO’s, regulators, utilities, technical consultants, and other statutory bodies, ensuring that projects are developed in accordance with required functional specifications and legislative requirements. 

• Partner with CAD Technician to ensure design requirements met per project requirement. 

• Conduct post project evaluations with relevant teams to assess performance and identify areas for improvement for future projects. 

• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and contribute to the understanding of new innovations, technology, techniques, and tools relevant to charging infrastructure.

 Essential Criteria 

• A construction / engineering or related degree, or equivalent third level qualification.

 • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools. 

• Proven project management experience in Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing or a similar industry including planning, organising, and monitoring project activities. 

• Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships. 

• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Flexibility is essential.

 • Strong problem-solving ability and decision-making skills. • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office & CRM platforms. 

• Good understanding of health and safety to include experience with developing risk assessments and safe working practices. 

• Full UK or ROI driving licence. 

 Desirable Criteria 

• Electrical Engineering degree. 

• Chartered Electrical Engineer. 

• Project management certification e.g. PRINCE2 or similar. 

• Experience working within the EV Charging industry.
